Tresillian's Chair in Child & Family Health

In 2006 Tresillian Family Care Centres created the Tresillian Chair in Child and Family Health in partnership with the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Health. Dr Cathrine Fowler was appointed to the position as the inaugural professor. The Chair is located within the Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health.
Professor Fowler has the honour of being Australia’s only Chair in Child and Family Health.
Through this Chair, Professor Fowler maintains strong connections with Tresillian Family Care Centres assisting with practice and policy development, and providing research supervision and mentoring. She teaches within the Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health Nursing and other UTS graduate nursing programs.
Professor Fowler is also involved in several Tresillian and external research studies. She is a member of several national and state advisory committees. A recent appointment has been as the child advocate for the NSW Department of Corrective Services Mothers and Children’s program.
This Chair has enabled Tresillian to enhance its ability to provide clinical and academic leadership for child and family health nurses and other professionals working with families and their young children
