MyTime Groups

MyTime groups are for parents and carers of children with a disability, developmental delay or chronic medical condition. Parents, grandparents and carers can meet at a MyTime group to socialise and share ideas. The aim of the group is to assist families to understand and share the rewards and intensity of the caring role. A group leader facilitates each group.  Topics that might be discussed include taking care of yourself, getting the right support, your child’s development and play ideas. A play helper is available to engage the children in a range of activities whilst the parents and carers meet. 

Who can attend a MyTime group?

Any person who is eligible for the Carer (child) allowance is welcome to attend. MyTime is funded by the Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) and coordinated nationally by the Parenting Research Centre. Tresillian Family Care Centres is one of four agencies in NSW coordinating MyTime groups.
