Stay Healthy and Feel Good

For mums, there are huge physical changes to cope with as your body returns to normal after the massive adjustments of pregnancy and birth. Try these tips to help you relax:
- Eat well and exercise regularly
- Get adequate sleep whenever possible
- Let visitors help with meals and caring for your baby
- Wear clothes that need little ironing
- Make and freeze two meals at a time
- Try and make some time for yourself
- Call a friend if you’re having a bad day
- Keep your sense of humour
- Get your partner involved
Postnatal exercises
Pelvic floor exercises should be started as soon as possible after your baby has been born. Pregnancy and birth put huge pressure on the pelvic floor and women who have had children are more likely to suffer from urinary incontinence as they get older. For more information on the right pelvic floor exercises for you, ask your local doctor or contact your local Physiotherapist.
