Grandparenting from a Distance

These days many families live a long way apart from each other so you may not have the privilege of spending a lot of time with your grandchild.

Some ideas on keeping in touch:

  • Use technology to your advantage and see and talk to your grandchild using Computer webcams and free software such as SKYPE.
  • Visit them, write letters and call the family often, even if they don’t ring you.
  • Offer to have the family stay with you when they visit so you really get to know your grandchild.
